Harvey Causon

Since his early releases Harvey Causon’s restless curiosity has been the force behind his deft, infectious electronica. Breaking through via the ever-experimental Bristol music scene with his initial singles and EPs in 2017, Causon has built himself a reputation as an artist with a truly singular voice and songwriting ability. Championed by BBC Radio 1, 6 Music, NME, DIY, Clash, Wonderland and Notion, the vocalist, producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist has constructed a world of calculated-electronic landscapes and almost-scientific lyric-craft that convey a deep emotional resonance.
Square Breath, Harvey's debut album (released November 2024) is a distillation of Harvey’s journey so far; a highly ambitious, fluid and extraordinary album that both tackles his innermost anxieties while celebrating the joy of community. It is a breathtakingly complex yet immediate body of work which cements his position as one of British music’s brightest sparks.
Collective Body (Original Virtual Reality Experience Score) (released October 2025) was originally commissioned by The Lincoln Centre in New York and for an interactive dance based VR instillation of the same name. Harvey designed it to be generative, interactive and spacialised based on objects and movements, then re-worked the music into 7 stereo format tracks.
Harvey’s albums are inspired as much by dance as they are music. While they sit in different worlds sonically, both are graceful, atmospheric, with shifting ambient textures underscored by skittering grooves. As a listener, the walls of Causon’s mind close in around you with an enigmatic display of authority and vulnerability. His raw, intricate lyricism and dystopian soundwaves illustrate love and heartbreak to the worsening climate crisis, competition through capitalism and the spiral of artificial intelligence. Causon’s highly fertile and visionary mind stands as a true testament to his powers of documentation.
